Dear AIA WMR Conference Attendees:
THE AIA WMR CONFERENCE IS ON AND WE HAVE A NEW LOCATION!
The government shutdown that began last night has forced a change in venue for the “Architecture Matters” AIA WMR Conference. We have relocated the conference to The Four Seasons Resort in Teton Village, Wyoming. Here’s what this means for you:
LODGING:
Your room reservation is being moved to one of three hotels in Teton Village within walking distance of the Four Seasons. Check in for all lodging will be at Teton Mountain Lodge, (3385 Cody Lane, Teton Village, WY 83025). The hotels are Hotel Terra, Teton Mountain Lodge, and Snake River Lodge & Spa, all high quality hotels that you can check out on line. Your room rate of $179 from Jackson Lake Lodge will he honored by whatever hotel you are assigned, so there will be no additional cost to you. You will receive a full refund of your first night deposit from Jackson Lake Lodge within a week.
TRANSPORTATION:
Alltrans has been notified of the venue change. For those of you who have booked with Alltrans, please verify your attendance with them and direct them to drop you at Teton Mountain Lodge. Alltrans contact information is: (307-733-3135). For those driving to the conference we have attached a map of the area showing the hotels in Teton Village.
SPEAKERS & CES:
We are expecting the full slate of speakers and CES credits for the conference with the exception of the tour of the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center in Grand Teton National Park. If you signed up for the tour your payment of $25 will be refunded to you by mail.
EXHIBITORS:
The exhibitor booths will be set up at the Four Seasons directly adjacent to the Cottonwood Ballroom where the main events will take place. Exhibitor items that were shipped to Jackson Lake Lodge will be brought to The Four Seasons Hotel prior to your arrival. The exhibitor hours will go from Thursday at 8am and have been extended to Friday at 5:45. The setup time remains the same 6:00- 7:45am.
SCHEDULE:
Due to some of the changes outlined above we have modified the conference schedule as follows: Thursday’s schedule will stay the same with no changes. Instead of the tour on Friday afternoon we will move the program from Saturday morning to finish on Friday afternoon prior to the Awards Celebration. Revised schedules will be awaiting you at check-in.
IN CLOSING:
We are very grateful to our sponsors for their continued support through these changes. In spite of this precipitous shift of venue, your AIA WMR planning team is working hard to make this transition as smooth as possible. We are extremely gratified at the cooperation we have received from our friends at The Four Seasons, Hotel Terra, Teton Mountain Lodge, Snake River Lodge & Spa, and Shooting Star, who are fully mobilized to welcome our 255 conferees, speakers, and vendors, guaranteeing that this will indeed be a memorable conference. One of the benefits of this change of venue is that we will all be closer to town, where the Host Chapter Party and Paul Goldberger lecture will be held, and we will be based at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, which was just honored by Ski Magazine as the Number 1 Ski Resort in North America. So your conference experience will be even more comfortable and convenient than it would have been in the Park.
See you soon at the Village!
